COVID-19 Policy/Procedures Update
Effective May 8th, Governor Hogan had lifted some COVID19 restrictions to allow for elective health care appointments and procedures. In response, the Maryland Secretary of Health had implemented certain protocols necessary for practices to open safely and we have successfully met and exceeded those guidelines.
Safety protocols are critical for patient care moving forward to reduce the risk of COVID19 exposure and transmission to our patients and staff. All staff will be screened for COVID19 symptoms as well as temperature checks upon arrival for shift. Any employee will be ordered to stay home if they become ill. At all times, doctors and staff will be wearing appropriate face masks which includes KN95 masks, surgical masks and/or face shields depending on procedure requirements. All staff members have been extensively trained on COVID19 and disinfection methods. We have implemented enhanced work place infection control measures including multiple plexiglass barriers, breath shields, increased disinfection systems and UV sanitization of frames and air purification. We will be scheduling appointments further apart so that we can maintain appropriate social distancing as well.
Following guidelines by the Secretary of Health, patients will be required to wear a face covering at all times. All patients and visitors will be screened for COVID19 symptoms and will be subject to a temperature check upon entrance. In following social distancing guidelines, patients should present alone except in instances where a guardian/parent or caregiver is required. We will be staggering appointments to reduce wait times and patients may be required to stay in their vehicle until a staff member can escort them directly into an exam room.
The health and safety of our patients, staff and community is our top priority. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we navigate through these unprecedented times.
